OSX Lion [Rants and Raves]

Okay so I’ve had Lion for about 24 hours so far and used it for about half that time maybe. First off I must say that I love the new Mail app! It’s new conversations view and iPadesque layout are exactly what I’ve wanted for forever. Launchpad is pretty cool as well I just need to organize it then I may switch from using Quicksilver…maybe. All windows overall have a slightly updated look that I think is very slick. To me the dock looks different too…that may be all in my head though. Overall I love this upgrade and it was very much worth $29. I may even have to get a Magic Trackpad now…dang you Apple…

Okay time for rants. My one and only rant is with Pro Tools. They NEVER EVER EVER have their software ready for new releases of OSX. Never. And last time this happened it took some 6 months I believe for it to be even remotely compatible. You may have had to pay for the upgrade form PT7 to PT8 as well if I remember correctly. This is really really annoying. Just think of all the new customers who buy new Macs they’re losing! If I were new to the music industry and purchasing a new setup with a new Mac, I would SERIOUSLY consider a nicer interface and Logic Pro.

That’s all for now. Hope you enjoyed

The New Blog

Let’s try this again.  I couldn’t tell you how many times I’ve tried to start a blog, but I’ve never been happy with the way they look or work or interact with other social media outlets.  I think I have finally found the solution though.  I will be using this blog to post all of my freelance work from here on out and also random musings from my everyday life.  Be sure to “Like” these posts and if you use Twitter, share them there as well!  I hope you all are as excited as I am and I hope that you will all check back and enjoy all of my posts!

This is really cool! Hopefully I can go this year!

First Post / Final Cut Studio 4

So I really like the layout of Tumblr and the simplicity of it.  I’m gonna try it out.  I’ve been a hardcore Twitter user for a while now.  I’ve tried the whole Wordpress blog thing, but I never seem to be able to keep it up.  Maybe it’s something about the whole “blog thing” that’s intimidating me unknowingly.  Needless to say, I like the idea of Tumblr.  We’ll see how this goes.

According to MacRumors and pretty much every other tech site out there, Apple is set to introduce the brand new Final Cut Studio 4 today and more specifically the completely redesigned and reworked Final Cut Pro.  It’s stayed the same with the same layout for far too long and is honestly way way behind compared to Premiere Pro…but I hate Premiere Pro so I’m excited about what Apple has to offer.  Here’s to hoping for some amazing iPad interface that coincides with the desktop version.
